Who Are We?
Jennifer Nock Training and Consultancy (JNTC) was developed in 2001 in response to requests from Jennifer's colleagues for bespoke training in SEN and inclusive practice. Initially, the service was only available to educational practitioners from West Midland schools, but the demand quickly spread, and by 2004, JNTC was established in Birmingham, Walsall, Staffordshire and Lancashire. As the company's reputation for excellent training and consultancy grew, so did the demand for support, and the service has now been accessed by practitioners throughout the whole of the UK. JNCT specialises in delivering training in Attachment and Trauma, Autistic Spectrum conditions, Pathological Demand Avoidance, Foetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders, Down Syndrome and a range of other SENDs in mainstream and special settings. We also offer training in creative supervision for managers and senior leadership teams, which has proved to be very popular as schools begin to recover in the COVID-19 and post COVID-19 eras. (See the Webinar and Training pages below for the full range of courses we offer). As mentioned already, we have since COVID-19 reduced the number of whole-school visits for on-site training events (although this option is now possible should schools wish it) but each term we are maintaining a full programme of ZOOM webinars offering a range of training (see the page below). We found this worked well for us and our clients during the pandemic and it is now an integral part of the service we offer our clients.
In June 2017 we launched our new Attachment and Trauma Sensitive Schools Award, which a number of schools are now engaged in attaining. Information about this new venture can be accessed via this website: www.attachmentandtraumasensitiveschoolsaward.com

(2007) Blind Children's Understanding of Vision (PhD thesis) Testimonials: "I'd heard a lot of positive reports about Jennifer's work, and I was not left disappointed! This training should be an essential resource for all professionals working with troubled children and young people. A perfect blend of theory and practice. Thank you." (Headteacher, Glasgow, April 2015) “I loved everything about the training: the venue, the structure of the day, the exceptional resources and in particular, the delivery from such an experienced, competent practitioner. I would absolutely love to have this presentation delivered to the whole staff at our school; I think it would be extremely beneficial.” (Manager of Learner Support at PHSG, Plymouth, October 2015) “I found this workshop absolutely fantastic and exceptionally thought-provoking and helpful. It left my head spinning with ideas and thoughts about the extremely complex needs of the young people I am working with. I can already feel how the knowledge I gained is going to impact my practice.” (Assistant Head, Edinburgh, October 2015) "Delivered in a varied way, snappy activities, good balance of interaction with participants. Fantastic delivery of information from the perspective of an educator and acknowledgement of day-to- day practicalities within settings.” SENCO, Leeds, March 2015) "I have already started to use some of the strategies Jenny discussed. I found the workshop really enlightening and would highly recommend for both educationalists and carers of looked after/traumatised children and young people." (Foster Carer, Birmingham, September 2015) “Many staff members have been to visit me today to say how much they enjoyed the course yesterday and how much they learned. Your delivery was also well received with people saying how warm and interesting your style was. So, many thanks again for your training.” (SENDCO, Middlesex, January 2016) “I just wanted to say that your course was the best Attachment and Trauma training that I have ever attended. I learnt so much but this was aided by your delivery of the material, which made it a knowledgeable experience!” (TA, Birmingham June 2016) “The training by Jenny Nock was probably the best training course I have attended. An excellent presenter, Jenny delivered a extremely informative session which has equipped me to carry out my role more effectively - I have already started to use some of the strategies to build a relationship with the child I currently work with. I feel more confident to carry out my role. I would love to attend a follow-up course, and also feel that a whole-school course would be beneficial. “ (TA, Edinburgh , May 2016) |
Recemt Testimonials:

Your one of those people you wish was your best friend. Keep fighting the good fight for our precious children." (School Counsellor, Blackburn, January 2018) "Thank you so much for an inspiring...thought-provoking and practice changing day. I really enjoyed it. Your method of delivery is extremely engaging, and the way that you and your husband looked after everyone was amazing. Thank you! Thank you too for the wealth of materials that you have sent. I need another day to go through them. " (SENDCo, Norfolk, January 2018) "The workshop was fantastic, and I could have listened to Jenny for a week as her passion shone through, making the day very uplifting. I can’t wait for the next course. Wonderful workshop, brilliant information and super facilitator. " (Family Support Manager, Preston, September 2017) 'Jennifer Nock was fantastic. One of the best training courses I have ever been on. Thank you.'; 'Inspirational speaker'; 'Very relevant'; 'Everything was enlightening and enjoyable' 'Very thorough, thought-provoking, motivating'; 'Absolutely brilliant speaker, really thought-provoking and learnt a lot' (SENDCos North Star Alliance, Yorkshire, September 2017) " I looked forward to the training day (on Attachment and Trauma De-Mystified) but with some trepidation, hoping it wouldn’t be a waste of my precious time. I have to let you know it was transformational. I’ve been banging on about it to whoever will listen ever since. " (Headteacher, Twikenham, London 20th April. 2017) "(This was) an immensely powerful and informative day on attachment. Staff left feeling inspired and empowered to continue to support schoools to 'make a difference'. The schools which attended have given very positive feedback, with headteachers reporting that staff were 'buzzing' with enthusiasm to make positive changes in their school on the next day." (Attachment and Trauma Sensitive Workshop for Schools, organised by Suffolk County Council, 18th April 2017) "This workshop (on attachment theory) renewed my vision and positivity." (Learning Mentor) ; "It will change the way I shall work with young people" (Learning Support Assistant) Liverpool, January 2017 " The inset day that Jenny delivered (Mental Health and Well-Being in School for pupils and staff) was fantastic in bringing mental health to the forefront of everyone's mind. We discussed issues that helped us refocus and evaluate our thoughts as well as plan for the future. Jenny delivered the tailored sessions with great warmth and depth of knowledge, and I would thoroughly recommend any school wishing to address issues relating to mental health and well-being to dedicate a day for this training" (Deputy Head, Warwick, January 2017) "I had been looking forward to you coming in to school pretty much since before we booked you but you absolutely surpassed every single expectation that I could have had. Your impact in school yesterday was significant - staff were enthused by your work and your delivery and the content was pitched perfectly. This has facilitated our discussion this morning around challenging each other as adults to remember and to remind each other that childrens' behaviour is always a communication; an expression of need. " (Headteacher, Knaresborough, September 2018) "...Thank you for the excellent training. Jenny is an extremely engaging, inspiring and informative speaker. She has forwarded a huge amount of helpful information over the weekend to those who attended her training. This high quality professional development is just what we need." (Inclusion Manager, London, November 2018) "Thank you so much for today, it has been brilliant and the feedback has been amazing with one person saying "it has changed my life". Fantastic! - looking forward to working with you again. " (Secondary School Improvement Advisor, SENDCO Conference, East Riding, December 2018) "I just wanted to say thank you very much for the Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA) training you delivered last week. It was really useful to see the evidence presented in that way. The ways I have been supporting the schools and strategies around working with that high level anxiety and control was very similar to yours, which was really reassuring and having that confirmation was great for me. I also gained clarity around my thoughts on PDA and its links to trauma and attachment. Its always lovely to see you and attend your training sessions. Thanks for your care and sharing your knowledge in such an accessible way." (Care Worker Team Leader, Penrith, July 2019) For the full range of training we offer please see the following pages. |
